Codman Square NDC
Talbot Commons Phase 1 includes two distinct sites in the Codman Square neighborhood.
The Talbot Station development is a lively mix of renovation, adaptive re-use and new construction within sight of the Talbot Ave. Commuter Rail Stop on the Fairmont Line. As an affordable, transit-oriented development, the project is well placed to reienforce both density and diversity within the neighborhood. Containing four buildings, two of which are new-construction, the development introduces (18) new units of affordable housing along with a community room inside a 100-year old blacksmith’s shop at the corner of the site.
The Norfolk Terrace site, a 10-minute walk south, consists of four buildings containing (22) affordable units in total. Three existing buildings receiving new kitchens, baths and envelope upgrades (insulation, siding and windows) are joined by a new 4-unit building that completes the site design defined by a new centerally located community garden.
